Specializing in Rottweilers and Akitas, Rokita Dog Sanctuary has been rescuing
large and giant breed dogs since 1993. With a primary focus of dealing with
breeds that are more difficult to place, and therefore stand a greater chance
of being killed in municipal pounds, Rokita Dog Sanctuary strives to retrain
and rehabilitate these "throw-aways" -- dogs that have either outlived
their usefulness or their novelty with impulsive owners who considered their
dog a possession rather than a friend or family member -- and get them into
suitable household settings. There are many sad stories and these dogs have
turned up for rescue under many different circumstances. Despite these setbacks
and the traumas endured, they all still long for attention, affection and someone
to please.

Shih Tzu and other small breeds, into wanted, loved companion dogs.
